Welcome to the summer edition of the newsletter. In this edition we'll present some of the latest thoughts from Microsoft around interoperability. In order to create compelling applications, developers shouldn't have to access each of a variety of application services with a different set of tools and with incompatible interfaces. Developers can use the Microsoft .NET Framework to access all the core application services provided by Microsoft Windows Server 2003 through a common, well-defined interface. Moreover, developers can create new business services that can be exposed through industry standard interfaces (such as SOAP, UDDI, and WS-I standards), which allow other enterprise applications using non-Microsoft platforms to interoperate seamlessly. This edition also highlights the new WSE 3.0, which you can download today. Release 3.0 has some great new features to help developers specifically in the security space. You also will find a case study about Fidelity developing Streetscape for Windows, a solution with a great story around platform interoperability.
Enjoy this edition, and of course enjoy the summer.
